Garlic Butter Sauce

To accompany Prime Rib

Ingredients (Kitchen-friendly)
3/4 c butter, plus 2 additional Tbsp
2 Tbsp garlic, minced
1/4 c beef broth
2 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1 Tbsp chives, preferable chopped fresh
½ tsp D.D. Williamson Caramel Color Powder

Directions:

  1. Melt 2 Tbsp of butter in medium saucepan over medium heat.
  2. Lightly brown the garlic by cooking in butter for 2-4 minutes.
  3. Add broth, Worcestershire sauce and D.D. Williamson Caramel Color Powder.
  4. Bring to boil, then remove from heat.
  5. Whisk in the remaining butter slowly.
  6. Stir in chives.
  7. Serve immediately with prime rib.

Tips:

To prepare the prime rib: Sprinkle a 5-6 lb bone-in prime rib roast with 1 Tbsp Kosher (coarse) salt, and 1 tsp pepper. Put the roast, rib side down in a shallow roasting pan. Bake at 450°F for 15 minutes; then bake at 325°F for 100 – 120 minutes (or until the internal temperature reaches 135°F). Remove from the oven and cover loosely with foil. Let stand for 15 minutes before serving.
